During the first five years of their marriage, she dedicated herself to motherhood, yet she remained deeply involved in their business ventures. “Although my primary role was as a mother, I was always engaged in our businesses. Daniel took on most of the operational responsibilities, but it was always a collaborative effort,” she shares.
Their hard work and dedication paid off when they founded one of Panama’s most prominent concrete companies. Over nine years, they contributed significantly to the development of more than 30 residential communities and supplied concrete for major projects such as the expansion of the Panama Canal, Tocumen International Airport, the Panama Metro, the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal, and various other public infrastructures. Canal expansion, as one of the leading companies in concrete dispatch and production, highlights their collaboration with international firms like Odebrecht.
Despite their success, socio-political challenges in Panama around 2014-2015, along with the anticipation of their second child, led Zhereyda and Daniel to relocate to Miami. There, they explored diverse business ventures, from managing gas stations and restaurants to importing goods from China for the hospitality industry amid the pandemic. However, they soon realized that none of these endeavors resonated with their core passion and vision.
“Our return to the construction industry felt like a homecoming,” Zhereyda explains. “Working with a family member reminded us of where we truly belong. That’s when we decided to start fresh and establish CCGS Construction.”

In addition, they identify overcoming the fear of failure and managing limited resources as some of the most significant challenges in starting a business. “Facing uncertainty can be overwhelming, especially in a competitive market like construction,” they explain. “But a strong mindset, continuous learning, and surrounding yourself with the right people are crucial.”
